Not64 Released

After almost two years, the developer Extrems has released a new update of Not64 under review  20190410. Not64 is a fork of Wii64 / Cube64, an experimental emulator of the Mupen64GC for WII and Wii U, according to the developer a hybrid. is an emergency re-release to improve the quality of 480p videos on Wii. “

DRIVE FAST:

  • ROMs can be z64 (big-endian) or v64 (little endian) or .n64, of any size
  • To install: extract the contents of wii64-beta1.1.zip into the root of your SD card
  • For SD / USB: insert the ROMs in the directory named / wii64 / rom,
  • All types of saving will be automatically entered in / wii64 / save
  • For DVDs: ROMs can be anywhere on disk (requires DVDxV2 on Wii)
  • Load the executable from HBC or from the loader of your choice
  • Once loaded, select ‘Load ROM’ and choose the source and select the ROM to load
    (Note: to go up a directory select ‘..’, B will exit the file browser)
  •  Select ‘Play Game’ to play
  • You can exit the game at any time by pressing X and Y together on a GC or Classic Controller pad, 
    1 and 2 together on a Wiimote (only with attached Nunchuck) or the reset button 
    (Note: this must be done to save the game , but it won’t run automatically)

Controls:

  • The controls are now fully configurable so that any controller button can be mapped
  • The controller configuration screen shows each N64 button and lets you go through the sources
  • There are 4 configuration slots for each type of controller
  • To load a different configuration previously saved, select the slot and click on “Load”
  • After configuring the controls as desired, select the slot and click “Save”
  • After saving several configurations in the slots, be sure to save your config in the frame settings input tab
  • Clicking on ‘Next Pad’ will go through the assigned N64 controllers
  • There is an option to invert the Y axis of the N64 analog stick; by default this is ‘Normal Y’
  • The “Combo Menu” configuration allows you to select a combination of keys to return to the menu

Settings:

  • General
  • Native Saves Device: Choose where to load and save the saved native resources
  • Save States Device: Choose where to load and save the save states
  • Select CPU Core: choose whether to play with a pure interpreter
    (better compatibility) or dinarec (better speed)
  • Save settings.cfg: save all these SD or USB settings (to be loaded automatically next time)
  • Video
  • Show FPS: displays the framerate in the upper left corner of the screen
  • Screen Mode: select the aspect ratio of the display; “Force 16: 9” pillar-box in-game viewing
  • CPU Framebuffer: enabled for games designed only directly in the
    framebuffer (this should only be set for some homebrew demos)
  • 2xSaI Tex: scale and interpolate the textures in the game (unstable on GC)
  • FB Textures: Enable framebuffer textures (necessary for some games (eg Zelda Subscreen), but can affect performance; unstable on GC)
  • Input
  • Configure Input: Select the controllers to be used in the game
  • Configure Paks: Select the paks controller to use with the controller
  • Configure Buttons: enter the controller configuration screen described above
  • Save Button Configs: Saves all controller configuration slots to SD or USB
  • Auto Load Slot: Select which slot should be loaded automatically for each type of controller
  • Audio
  • Disable Audio: To turn off the sound
  • Saves
  • Auto Save Native Saves: if enabled, the emulator automatically loads the 
    save from the selected device while loading the ROM and saves when you return to the menu or
    turn off the console
  • Copy Saves: not yet implemented
  • Delete Saves: not yet implemented
